Argus began January of 1894, printing the first issue of the weekly newspaper, "The Wayne Argus". In 1913, A.A.H. Canizares and his son, Monte George, branched out and formed Argus Printing Company. In 1973, they joined forces with Larry and Burt Smugger of the Graphic Center, at its current location. Young Ahn purchased Argus in 1997 and owned the business for a very short time. Purchasing Argus in 2000, Susan and Bill McCauley were the 4th owners and quickly saw an opportunity to develop social printing, along side the corporate printing. This Argus Invitation Studio has grown steadily and currently has the largest selection of invitations on the Main Line. In April, 2016, MaryBeth Heilmann, a local entrepreneur and actress, purchased Argus from Susan and Bill McCauley, with the intention of continuing the growth of the Invitation Studio, while also catering to the needs of our corporate customers. Our knowledgeable and friendly team will work with you to define your style and offer creative ways to bring a unique personal print experience to each of your social events. From Crane and Co to TAG to Checkerboard, Carlson Craft and more - Argus has all the latest trends, as well as timeless and traditional styles.
